When SilencerCo and I started putting together the team of bloggers/vloggers, we knew we wanted the real deal in communicators. We wanted to bring you stories from people who live across the country and who choose lifestyles with suppressed firearms.

It’s my privilege to introduce you to the team with boots on the ground and suppressors on their guns.

Jason Baird

Jason Baird SilencerCo blogger

Jason Baird on the range with a Switchback

Jason Baird is a retired Air Force B-52 navigator and “rocket scientist,” and a retired associate professor of mining and explosives engineering. He owns and operates Loki Incorporated, a successful small business participating in a wide range of energetic materials and ballistic resistance topics, and performing test and expert witness services. As a hobby, he enjoys building useful stuff out of wood and steel, and handloading ammo. He also plays maintenance man on his own property, and enjoys making noise with a wide variety of power tools. Oh, and he’s known as “Dr. Bomb,” or “the Bomb,” to friends.

Editor’s note: Yes, Jason and I share the same last name and we’ve shared the same household and family for more than 42 years. We have 4 kids and they have 9 kids. I didn’t pick him to be our tekkie expert at the blog team, though, based on our relationship on the home front. The dude can blow up a bridge in Naples, take down a building in St. Louis, conduct and then analyze a ballistics test, do research on seismic and blast detonation systems in gold mines in South Africa and tell you how to clean a Sparrow 22.

Kenn Blanchard

Kenn Blanchard is a voice actor, podcaster and the author of the book and web properties called “Black Man With a Gun.” He’s been advocating for the right to keep and bear arms since 1991, masterfully helping, teaching and preaching in African and Hispanic American urban markets. Podcasting has been his thing since 2007, and he has produced 15 shows for, at last count, more than 1100 episodes. Kenn is an ordained Baptist pastor and a US Marine Corps veteran. He also lists former federal police experience and time on the job as a CIA analyst. Ken is a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast and blues guitarist. He also knows how to dress to carry concealed in South American countries.

Editor’s note: I first met Kenn Blanchard a decade ago at a media event in Virginia called “Make Big Noise.” I’d heard his podcast and I knew he was a mover and a shaker in this industry. He is so respected, a man of God and a man who knows how to squeeze every drop out of a lemon to make a good drink. He’s a wonderful family man, with a beautiful, intelligent wife and 2 talented children.

Larry Case

Larry Case headshot

Larry Case lives in the mountains of West Virginia and has been a hunter, shooter and outdoorsman his entire life. Larry served for 36 years as a DNR Law Enforcement Officer, (Game Warden) and retired as a District Captain. Larry now writes articles for the country’s finest gun and hunting related magazines and websites. He also pens a newspaper column that appears weekly in 8 newspapers in 5 states. Larry will admit to being somewhat addicted to turkey and squirrel hunting, but refuses any treatment. He blogs at “Guns and Cornbread.”  He claims he once worked as a whitewater river guide before he became an officer of the wildlife law. Amazingly, he also can play “Tequila” on a duck call.

Editor’s note: Larry Case can out-hunt anyone and isn’t just a trigger puller in the world of outdoor gun writers. He and his lovely, educated wife (or as he calls her, his “long-suffering wife”) of 35 years, have 2 great kids and enjoy being around family and friends. Larry is unique, too, because he comes to the world of outdoor writing (and to this blog team) after a successful career as a high-up-in-the-ranks game warden. He almost fell off a mountain doing his intro video for us.

Brooklee Grant

Brooklee Grant headshot

The great outdoors has always been a mainstay in Brooklee Grant’s life. She grew up hunting whitetail and fishing in the Pineywoods of East Texas. Ever since childhood, her life has revolved around being active in nature, and not a day goes by that she’s not thinking about hunting. She is a duck hunting fanatic; in fact, in the fall, you might just catch her trying to squeeze in a hunt before work. When she’s not busy chasing deer or ducks, she enjoys hunting turkey, feral hogs, and dove. She also casts the occasional line for big bass. She and her husband enjoy building guns and target shooting (including long range shooting).

Brooklee is active in her church and community. She belongs to many wildlife conservation organizations and is the Social Media Committee Chair at the Texas Outdoor Writers Association. In her spare time, Brooklee settles down to cook, garden, write and spend time with her friends and family.

Editor’s note: Brooklee is the only blogger on our blog team I haven’t met yet, but I think I know her type. If you read her bio above, you’ll see that the dust never settles at this outdoorsy woman’s feet. For that reason, she said she would be most likely to binge watch either the “Blacklist” or “Designated Survivor.”

Ashlee Lundvall

Ashlee Lundvall headshot 2020

Ashlee Lundvall writes a blog titled “Redefining Life,” that follows her rise from a debilitating injury as a teenager to becoming Ms. Wheelchair USA in 2013. Her first book, A Redefined Life, was released in February of 2016. She recently was invited to join the National Pro Staff for Mossy Oak and the NRA’s Disabled Shooting Sports committee. Ashlee serves on the President’s Council for Sports, Fitness & Nutrition. She received the 2017 SCI Foundation Pathfinder Award. Ashlee truly shines as a keynote speaker at outdoor industry and disability related events and conferences. She is passionate about mentoring newly injured patients, and loves to pass on her love for adapted outdoor recreation. Presently, Ashlee is designing and building a fully-adaptive home for herself and her family in the mountains of Wyoming. She hopes to raise chickens in her spare time.

Editor’s note: She’s a bit of a superstar (and pageant queen) in the world of advocacy for physically challenged people, and when she picked me up at the annual NRA Meeting and took me out for fried chicken in Atlanta, I knew I’d met a newfound old friend. Ashlee’s attitude inspires so many people who know her and know of her. She and her outdoor-enthusiast hubby are raising an astounding daughter who shoots and hunts, too.
